Yeah!

It has been a long journey and it was fast race toward the end (for me), but I had an excellent time and great pride and joy.

I tend to think a lot and don't normally put things down in writing so Blogger has been a great tool for me to put some my thought down in writing. I will continue using it without a doubt. I am a photographer so Flickr is an excellence place for me to share my passion with others.
I also love Podcasts and eAudiobooks. They have expanded my possibility in learning and gained knowledge and believe me I had learned a lot in the past 8 weeks.

However sadly to say, I don't think all library branches are created equal. While at Main library might have sufficient equipments to support this excellence learning experience, but not at the branch I work for. If it is not because I have access to a personal computer and internet at home, I would not otherwise be able to finish this journey.

Although I consider myself quite computer savvy, I feel there is not enough time to learn three things in a week. When you talk about learning each list, there are many other things that you also have to learn in order to complete that particular list. I personally don’t think that our library is yet built to support this learning environment. My suggestion is that in the future, maybe we can all just learn one thing a week (instead of three things.) and let most of our staff to catch up and allow enough time to play, explore, discuss, and most importantly have fun with it.

All that said I absolutely will be participating in the future. For me, anything is worth learning as Martina Horner, President of Radcliffe College quote “What is important is to keep learning, to enjoy challenge, and to tolerate ambiguity. In the end there are no certain answers.”
Please just make sure that I will have enough time to explore and although prizes are not necessary (as you will be rewarded from your learning experience and every steps you take) but it certainly help motivating me (and you too.)

Thank you for the opportunity to take this great learning journey. Thank to Helene and others staff who make this Learning 2.0 happen. Thank you.

NetLibrary

I used this netlibrary once before when I first moved here. I was watching Oprah when she annouced the book for her bookclub. Night by Elie Wiesel was her choice. I wanted to read this book because of his moving story. Unfortunately, there were no hardcopy available at the library and I found that the library offer the e-audio version throught netlibrary. So I followed the link and created the account and download the book onto my computer. It was great idea and I love it. I am not a native English speaker and I have a hard time reading book in English so this is like the answer for me to enjoy reading (well, listening) to novel again. Moreover, I can also moving around (hand-free) while I was listening to the book. I am a multi-tasker.

iPod uPod EverybodyPodcasts, Yeah!

I have iTunes on my computer, and I have been using it to download music and some podcasts.(i.e NPR podcasts)Now, I will use it even more to download all those interesting podcasts. I explored all three podcasts directory and they are all good, but I like Yahoo Podcasts because it tell you if it's free. I did a search on Australia (because I am going there for vacation next month). I first search for "travel australia" and I got most of the results for travel (only)and not travel australia together. So I just typed in Australia and found this OZ music, and I feed it to my bloglines.

I also found bookreview on bookvoyage when I did a seach on Children's book review and I downloaded the lasted episode onto my computer using iTunes.

I found so many useful resources here. Thanks to Learning 2.0!

U2UTube

It's great idea that now anybody can be a star. Unfortunately, not everybody can be a good one. This answer why you have go through so many bad ones to enjoy a good one. It really slow my internet connection down too.

I chose this dragonfly video because I love nature (eventhough, nature can be crueled sometimes), but the truth is I got tired of searching, digging, and couldn't find a the one that I really like yet. So here I presented you "Beautiful Mantis Vs. Dragon Fly" video.

Anyway, we can use this tool productively and I think this tool can be a great outlet for our teens to show their talents and creativities in filmmaking business.

My Discoveried, Can't take my Eyes off You

Wow, there are so many many many tools out there. I was overwhelmed so I talk the short cut and just look at the shorter list.
I enjoy listen to music, so I went and explored the Last.fm tool. I wasn't so happy with this tool because it didn't give the result I wanted. For example, I was looking for Thai songs. The closest that Last.fm gave me is a song from R.Kelly?????
Then, I discovered this podcasts tool called Odeo and I like it. I found some funny podcasts as well as podcasts from NPR, which I listen to on daily basis. This is pretty awesome possom!
Here you've got to check this out: Can't take my Eyes off you

ZohoWriter Rock!

I really like this cool tool. This can't be good for Microsoft. I found it very easy to use and I love the design of Zoho. It's clean and colorful.

PBWiki is easy as 1-2-3

If you have plenty of time, this is a great place to just passing your time. Unfortunately, I am not one of them. However, I do have fun playing with it even just for a little bit. I know I will come back and play some more when I have more time. It's just so much to see and do right now. Ciao

WikiWiki

It's great to know that you can have a website without knowing anything about html. It means that anybody and anybody can have a website just about anything. I found this Wiki will be quite helpful for the book review by our library staff. The workshop will also be able to use wiki to track the progress and also give question and answer about the particular workshop. It also is a great tool to keep our library staff connected with news and stories about each other. These are just few thoughts because the only limit is your imagination.

Library2.0

In the technology and information driven society, you can't avoid being drag into this fast moving world even when you just want to stop and smell the roses (not the photograph of roses on flickr.) While I consider myself techno-savvy, I am not quite sure if I am ready for the library to go "all that high-tech community" just yet. Library for me is still a place where people who live in that community meet, greet, and sharing a good time and knowledge. I've already spend too much time with my computer and my online community and sometimes, I feel that I lost sense of a true comminity that I live in. I might just have to "CRASH" into someone just to feel that sense of human touch. Smile :-)

Technorati!

I was searching and playing around with technorati. It was fun, there is so much to read out there. It was pretty cool.

It's Delicious!

It's really great tool. I am browsing around on the internet way too much than I would like and found myself got carry away from link to link. I added those links that I found helpful to my favorites, and I even try to organize them in folder too. However, I managed to lost track where I have saved them so I could not find them when I needed. Hopefully, this Del.icio.us will help me come into peace with my collections of interesting and helpful website.

Road Less Travel

Rollyo is ok. It just another choice for your search especially when you got tired of the other huge search engine and all the advertisement on their website.
Here is my rollyo: http://rollyo.com/life_is_bella/road_less_travel/
